Lined up for a case study interview?

These interviews are there to test your analytical capability, listening skills, presentation skills, quantitative skills, and your ability to make reasonable assumptions among ambiguous sets of data.

Here are a few examples to help you thinking:

  1. How many metres have you travelled to get to this interview office?
  2. How many cars are on the Sydney Harbour Bridge right now?
  3. How many golf balls can you fit into a standard sized olympic swimming pool?
  4. How many cars are there in Australia?
  5. How would you value Sydney Airport?
  6. Revenues are very high for company XYZ in industry ABC, however they are still operating at a loss, not a profit - Why do you think this is so?
  7. The Pizzeria in Kensington is starting to operate at a loss. What recommendations can you make?
  8. Your company decides to research into the possibility into investing into a Movie Cinema. How much revenue does a Movie Theatre make in a year? How much revenue is required in order for it to be sustainable / break even?
  9. What would happen to the world if access to the internet (provided you have a computer) was entirely free?
  10. What would happen if the ‘production’ of oil came to an abrupt halt?
  11. How many cars are there in Australia?
  12. An offline business wants to go online, what is your advice?
  13. How do you find a needle in a haystack
  14. How do you find out whether or not the light in the fridge is on or off?
